Wisconsin Dells, Wis., April 11, 2023- – Most every day will soon be a circus day in the Village of Lake Delton! The all new “Bello’s Circus Extreme Variety Show” starring Bello Nock is coming to the Dells! Nock is a Dells-native, comic daredevil bringing his talent back to his hometown.
David Fee, owner, president and chief executive officer of Legacy Entertainment Group and the new owner of the former Palace Theater, has signed nationally acclaimed, Nock, to a six-month contract for the show, which will be opening May 23, 2023 and will run through Nov. 26, 2023. Fee will be investing over a million dollars in Nock’s new “Bello’s Circus Extreme Variety Show,” and Nock will produce the show.
Nock is an 8th generation artist who has performed in over 20,000 live shows across the globe. He is known for his legendary, daredevil stunts; endearing comedy and his 12-inch, high-spiked, orange hair. He started his career as a child performing on “Disney on Parade” for Walt and Roy Disney and went on to be named “America’s Best Clown” by Time Magazine in 2001. He has appeared on “America’s Got Talent,” “Britain’s Got Talent Champions,” and “World’s Got Talent China.” Nock starred in Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus, the Big Apple Circus and his own theater show, “Bello Mania,’ which was nominated for a Drama Desk Award. He has performed on Broadway and in Madison Square Garden. He is famous for his outrageous, death-defying stunts like walking on a high wire over Lincoln Center in New York City and hanging from a helicopter by his toes over the Statue of Liberty. He holds 16 Guinness
World Records, including the record for the longest unsupported tightrope walk over a cruise ship at sea.
He has performed for presidents, royalty and in shows all over the world, but the Dells holds a special place in his heart. Nock attended Lake Delton Elementary School where he met his wife, Jennifer Beard, in the third grade. Jennifer is a graduate of Wisconsin Dells High School (WDHS), and she and Bello were married in the old Dell View Hotel across the street from the theater. Jennifer’s parents, Bill and Corrine Beard, reside in Baraboo.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to come home, take a break from travelling for performances and to be near my in-laws, my daughter and my granddaughter,” Nock said. “The Wisconsin Dells is a magical place. I can star in shows all around the world, but there is nothing better than being home in the Wisconsin Dells.
“It is absolutely a pleasure and an honor to team up and work with my friend, David Fee, who has done so many recognizable and extraordinary shows around the country,” Nock said. “His shows are always amazing and make me want to buy a ticket!
“I have been an entertainer my entire life,” Nock said. “And I am honored that David trusts me enough to let me produce a show that will be
Bello and friends. This new show will have comedy, illusions, daredevil stunts and some of the greatest artists and entertainers from around the world, including performers from Canada, Mexico, Cuba, South America and more.” Nock himself will perform his incredible Wheel of Death act where he will walk blindfolded, jump rope, run and dance on the giant rotating wheel, high above the audience.
Crowds will also be amazed to see Bello’s beautiful daredevil daughter, Annaliese Nock, perform two completely new stunts, including a giant escape and walking a tightrope over the audience. Annaliese Nock is a world-class daredevil in her own right with a Guinness World Record for completing the most somersaults in a minute inside the spinning Wheel of Death. She has also appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and was the first ever female finalist on the GO-BIG show on Turner Broadcasting System (TBS).
“We live on the edge,” said Bello Nock. “And if we are not putting the audience on the edge of their seats, we are not doing our job. We want parents to feel like super heroes for taking their kids to a show they can all enjoy together.”
One highlighted act will be “Puppy Pals,” a comedy dog act that earned a quarterfinal spot on Season 15 of “America’s Got Talent.” “This is
a really fun, immersive, comedy act,” Nock said. “The dogs are all adopted and rescued dogs who perform spectacular stunts and incredible feats with an act that is sure to bring a howling good time.”
Fee said, “Legacy Entertainment Group will strive to bring spectacular, family-fun shows to the Dells. Our new ‘Bello’s Circus Extreme Variety Show’ will be like nothing else in town. This will be the greatest, live show in the Dells. This show is a natural fit with Baraboo, the early home of Ringling Brothers, being so close and with America’s favorite daredevil clown, Bello, having such strong ties to the area.
“The circus is back! This will be fun for everyone,” Fee said. “We hire the best of the best talent from all around the world in all of our shows. Bello will have some of the greatest acts and award-winning cast from all over the world in his ‘Bello’s Circus Extreme Variety Show,’ as well as the iconic commanding ringmaster, Andre McClain.” McClain began his career on the country’s only touring black rodeo. Nock met McClain while he was the singing ‘rhinestone cowboy’ ringmaster of Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey.
“’Bello’s Circus Extreme Variety Show’ will be a very entertaining, family-friendly, variety show,” Fee said. “Our guests will be amazed with aerialists, jugglers, dancers, stilt walkers, unicycle riders and hilarious clown acts. They will laugh until their sides hurt. We will have unique, funny and amazing trained dogs. It will be the most fun show in the Wisconsin Dells! The show will end with the Globe of Death adrenaline inducing motorcycle mayhem.”
The epic finale Motorcycle Globe of Death will feature three motorcycle stunt riders who will ride motorcycles with special LED lighting. They will ride crisscross, all around and completely upside down in a giant ball of steel, defying gravity. “This show will be full of audience participation and immersive experiences,” Nock said. “Come have fun with us! There’s something for everyone from ages 3 to 93! Four generations of family members can all be laughing at the same joke, and they can all create everlasting memories. If they have seen my shows before, this will be an all-new production, and there will be something different each and every show with hysterical audience participation.
“It is an honor and a privilege to be producing this circus show in the Dells,” Nock said. “Come see us, and may all your days be Circus Extreme Variety Show days!”
