Auditions for “Christmas in the Dells Dinner Show”

Legacy Entertainment Group, new owners of the Christmas in the Dells Dinner Theater in the Wisconsin Dells will conduct open auditions for singers, dancers, singer-dancers, musicians and specialty acts on Saturday, Sept. 2nd & 9th and Sunday, Sept 3rd & 10th at 564 Wisconsin Dells Parkway South, Wisconsin Dells, WI. Rehearsals for this year’s Christmas Show begin on October 11 and the Show opens November 1st.

“We are looking for exceptional singers, dancers, musicians, performing artists and entertainers to fill many roles in our amazing Christmas production. We produced this show for ten plus years in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and it became a Family Tradition. Families would return each year to see their favorite performers and new routines as well as for the fantastic dinner experience,” said David Fee, president of Legacy Entertainment Group and new owner of the theater. “We are so excited to continue this tradition by bringing it to Wisconsin.”

The theater is seeking confident performers with outstanding stage presence and charisma. Prior performance experience is preferred, and all applicants must provide a recent headshot or performance photograph and resume.

Registration for dancers and singer/dancers is from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Registration for singers and specialty acts is from 11:30 to 12 noon. Auditionees are asked to adhere to the audition guidelines detailed at www.LegacyEntertainmentGroup.com/auditions.

Dynamic singers should be able to perform a variety of styles and genres of music such as classic Christmas, country, musical theater, pop/rock, soul, folk, blues, and jazz. Ability to sing harmony is a plus.

For the audition, singers are asked to prepare two song selections (no more than 90 seconds each) that demonstrate various styles and range. An accompanist will NOT be provided. Singers are asked to bring musical track on their cell phone or CD format. Also, singer applicants should be prepared to learn a simple combination that shows basic movement and coordination skills.

Dancers should be very versatile and technically trained and accomplished in many styles of dance including jazz, ballet, musical theater, contemporary, country western, tap, modern, ballroom, and partnering. Gymnastic and/or aerial skills are also a plus. For the audition, dancers are asked to prepare a short dance combination with or without music that showcases their versatility. Those auditioning will be taught a dance combination, asked to present any special skills, and will need to partner with another auditionee.

Singer/dancers will need to be strong in both areas and should prepare to audition as required for singer and dancer positions.

The 700-seat Christmas in the Dells Dinner Theater opened in June of 2023 and currently presents “Bello’s Circus Extreme Variety Show” which is a Legacy Entertainment Group Production.

Legacy Entertainment Group is owned by David Fee, who previously co-owned The Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group, one of the largest show production companies in the Southeast, which owned and produced twenty-six shows in the Smoky Mountain area. In 2018 World Choice Investments, a Dolly Parton Company purchased Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group for an undisclosed amount. Some of the purchased productions included: The Smoky Mountain Opry™, The Comedy Barn®, Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud, ™ Magic Beyond Belief™ starring Darren Romeo, and the Smith Morning Variety Show featuring Charlie Bob Smith. In November and December, the company presented Christmas at the Smoky Mountain Opry, ™ The Hatfield and McCoy Christmas Disaster Dinner Feud, ™ and The Comedy Barn® Christmas Show. In addition, the company produced a summer seasonal Amazing Animals® Show at the Comedy Barn Theater. The company also owned Tony Romas, Happy Days Diner and Frizzle Chicken Pancake Coop and Chef’s Catering.
